Description
The Department of Surgery at Brown University is announcing the recruitment of a Division Chief of Plastic Surgery. The division contains sections of pediatric, reconstructive, hand, and aesthetic plastic surgery. We work closely with faculty in orthopedics, surgical oncology, ENT, and others to provide multidisciplinary care across 5 surgical hospitals.
Brown University is located in Providence, RI between New York and Boston. We have rich cultural and architectural heritage, an international airport and are on the Acela train line. The vibrant city is home to 4 universities and is walkable with active food and arts scenes. The New England Patriots and Rhode Island Football Club are located in or within 20 minutes of Providence. Rhode Island is the “Ocean State”, with easy access to the water, and there are also a variety of family friendly communities in easy access of the University.

Requirements
Minimum requirements include board certification in plastic surgery, with clinical strength in general plastic surgery or completion of a specialty fellowship. The successful applicant has a national reputation. The applicant should have a strong record in education and peer reviewed publication with proven experience in administration and leadership. The applicant must meet the requirements to be eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor of Surgery in the Research Scholar Clinician Scholar, or Teaching Scholar tracks at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University to include an established record of scholarly achievements and publications with a national or international reputation. Highly desirable attributes include involvement in national or international committees and relevant professional societies, and a track record of an administrative role at a major medical institution. A strong research track record is preferred. Candidates should address how they would contribute to the research and/or teaching missions of our diverse and inclusive university community.
