The candidate will be expected to support outreach activities conducive to expanding and promoting the Liver Transplant Program. The expectation for the candidate includes an active participation in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, administrative responsibilities related to the liver transplant program, and outstanding outcomes in clinical care supporting the Institution's academic mission.

Certification Requirements:

  • Experience in Hepatobiliary Surgery is required. HPB Certification by the AHPBA is desirable.
  • Robotic skills in both hepato-biliary surgery and kidney transplantation are highly desirable.
  • Experience in multi-organ donor recovery for both DBD and DCD is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with split liver transplants, with excellent track record in DCD liver transplants.
  • Experience with Normothermic perfusion technology is desirable.
  • A proven academic track record as a transplant surgeon in education and research is highly desirable. Educational interests, primarily in medical student education and a general surgery resident and transplant surgery fellowship training, are expected from a successful candidate and will be of essential consideration in the selection process.
  • Leadership/Administrative experience is highly desirable.
  • The candidate will participate in developing policy, procedures to meet regulatory standards, and be actively involved in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
