PACU / Recovery / Operating Room Registered Nurse

Position Overview

Pancholi Cosmetic Surgery is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our surgical team in a dual PACU and Operating Room role. This nurse will play a critical part in delivering exceptional perioperative care to cosmetic surgery patients in a private, accredited surgical facility. 

This position requires strong clinical judgment, advanced assessment skills, and the ability to provide a calm, luxury-level patient experience from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Operative Duties

• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and patient education
• Verify consents, surgical plans, and safety protocols
• Establish IV access and administer preoperative medications as ordered
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia provider and surgeon
• Ensure patient comfort and emotional reassurance prior to surgery

Intraoperative (OR) Duties

• Maintain sterile field and strict infection control standards
• Document intraoperative care accurately and timely
• Monitor patient status in coordination with anesthesia
• Anticipate surgeon needs to ensure efficient case flow
• Maintain compliance with Nevada State Board regulations

PACU / Recovery Duties

• Monitor and assess patients post-anesthesia
• Manage airway, pain control, nausea, and vital signs
• Recognize and respond promptly to complications
• Provide clear postoperative instructions to patients and caregivers
• Ensure safe discharge according to established criteria
• Document all recovery care thoroughly and accurately

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate medical records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment.
• Utilize medical terminology to accurately report patient status and collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Participate in quality improvement and compliance initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Nevada RN license
• BLS and ACLS certified (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 2–3 years of PACU and/or Operating Room experience required
• Experience in cosmetic or plastic surgery strongly preferred
• IV insertion proficiency required
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation private practice setting

Expected hours:   24 to 32 hours/week
