Description
The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix has 1 (one) Fellowship position available in Complex General Surgical Oncology for 2026-2028. Our fellowship is a two-year ACGME accredited program offered by the Department of Surgery, which is committed to training future leaders in the field of Surgical Oncology by providing comprehensive education, advanced technical skills, and research opportunities. Our mission is to equip fellows with the knowledge and expertise to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while advancing innovations in cancer treatment and research. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we emphasize clinical excellence, scholarly inquiry, and leadership development to improve outcomes for patients with complex oncologic conditions. Upon completion of the fellowship, you will be Complex General Surgical Oncology board eligible with the American Board of Surgery.
Fellows receive training from committed faculty members at the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. The complexity of the diseases and the diversity of our patient population will expose our fellows to the broadest breadth and greatest depth of training possible. Our fellows will acquire surgical expertise in the specialties of HPB, GI, Colorectal, Melanoma, Sarcoma, Head & Neck, and Thoracic surgeries, as well exposure to Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Interventional Radiology and Pathology.
Successful applicants are expected to start their training in August 2026. By the beginning date of the fellowship, all applicants must have completed their residency training in an accredited general surgery program in the US or Canada and have attained qualification to sit for the examination of the American Board of Surgery, and to be eligible for an Arizona medical license.
