Surgeon - Scientist Faculty, Upper Extremity Oncology

UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA currently seeks applicants for a Surgeon – Scientist who specializes in upper extremity musculoskeletal oncology.  

Qualified candidates must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree or equivalent, be board certified/eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and have or be eligible for a California medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited fellowship training in upper extremity surgery as well as orthopaedic oncology, and be certified or be eligible for Certification in the Subspecialty of Surgery of the Hand.  Demonstrated excellence in research, preferably with a track record of extramural funding, is preferred. 

Candidates should be fully engaged in providing state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. We seek an accomplished physician-scientist with interest in developing an academic orthopaedic surgery practice focused on disorders relevant to the malignant tumors of the upper extremity.   Candidates should be enthusiastic about engaging in academically productive scientific inquiry, educating medical students, residents, and fellows, serving the university community, and augmenting one of the nation’s leading departments. Academic appointment level will be commensurate with experience. The applicant may also be expected to perform clinical duties at one of our satellite facilities.
