The role of Director of Surgical Services leads the perioperative team by focusing on safe patient care while effectively managing operations. The Director Surgical Services has 24/7 responsibility for their departments.
\n
\n
What you will do in this role:
\n
• You will accurately identify real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication
\n
• You will actively participate in service, departmental and hospital wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those one represents
\n
• You will advance the customer experience in Surgical Services
\n
• You will coach subordinates through providing feedback, constructive critique of work, facilitates individual development plan, and documents their job performance
\n
• You will adhere to all Human Resource policies
\n
• You will effectively communicate departmental, organization and industry information to staff
\n
• You will facilitate evidence based employee engagement practices
\n
• You will effectively build strong relationships and networks to deliver upon organizational and department goals
\n
• You will participate in employee and patient rounding and identify and mentor potential future leaders
\n
• You will enforce standards of care for surgical services and develops processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance
\n
• You will develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing surgical services program which assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital mission
\n
• You will monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy, environmental, patient, and personnel safety
\n
• You will oversee a PI program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
\n
• You will be responsible for department's operational excellence by ensuring delivery of quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards
\n
• You will follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens
\n
• You will enforce safe procedural site and patient verification policy
\n
• You will monitor and respond to quality event reporting
\n
• You will support new program strategies and/or program enhancements which would expand patient services
\n
• You will develop, prioritize and defend capital equipment requests
\n
• You will be responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources
\n
• You will advance the growth agenda for Surgical Services
\n
• You will strives to become the OR of Choice for physicians, patients, staff, and payers in the community they serve
\n
• You will demonstrate a poised and confident demeanor that reassures others and commands respect within the organization and the community
\n
• You will develop and build strategic internal and external networks
\n
• You will promote consistent positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service
\n
• You will practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"

Ideal Candidate:
Someone who has background with bus development, strong physician relationships, divide & concur attitude
\n
Work on recruitment, development, establish strong provider relations, not in office & not shy, can relate to others
\n
Preference is for a current OR Director, having experience as an manager or above in higher volume or high complex OR, not surgery center, not an OR "bread & butter shop"; much more complex and fast paced
\n
volume in OR is very fast; experience with a larger facility is a plus
\n
Physician engagement very strong, Physicians just need strong leader, staff willing to do what they need to do, engagement wise they are good

Rate: USD $184,683 to $230,838
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Active unencumbered Clinical Director California state license
- Graduate from a fully accredited Clinical Director program
- One year of work experience as Clinical Director
- One year of EMR experience
- Board Certified
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
